Haldi, mehendi or a day function: go for soft, breathable fabrics like chanderi cotton (pick 2). They stay comfortable in the heat and look fresh in daylight photos.

Size guide in simple words
Gowns are sized by bust measurement. Measure around the fullest part of your bust and add about 2 inches for comfort. "M up to L margin" means the gown fits M and has extra seam margin, so a tailor can open it to fit L. If you are between sizes, take the bigger one. Length is measured from shoulder to hem — a 55–56 inch gown reaches the floor for most women around 5'3" to 5'5"; if you are shorter, a tailor can easily shorten the hem.
Care tips for party wear gowns
Dry clean silk, georgette and heavily worked gowns to protect mirrors, beads and sequences. Store them folded inside a cotton cloth, not plastic, and keep the work side inside so it doesn't snag. Cotton and chanderi gowns can be hand washed in cold water and dried in shade.
